Description

Description:

This is the red counterpart to the Petit range, built in exactly the same philosophy - fresh, accessible, and easy to drink, rather than structured or age-worthy. Made from 100% Pinotage in the Western Cape, it's typically unoaked or very lightly handled, which keeps the focus firmly on fruit. The winemaking is designed to avoid heavy tannins, giving a softer, more approachable profile than more serious Pinotage styles. The style is immediately open. It leans into mulberry, plum, cherry, and a slightly spiced edge, often with that classic Pinotage note of smoky bacon or savoury depth underneath. That savoury hint is what makes Pinotage distinctive, but here it's kept subtle and integrated.

What stands out most is how drinkable it is. The tannins are gentle, the fruit is forward, and the overall feel stays smooth rather than structured. It's not trying to show power or complexity - it's about balance and ease. There's also a lighter, fresher edge than many Pinotage wines. Some versions can even be served slightly chilled, which reinforces the modern, casual style. Overall, this is a modern, fruit-driven Pinotage, showing the grape in a softer, more approachable way - less intense, more everyday.
