Macallan

The Macallan distillery was one of the first in Scotland to be legally licensed when it first began operating in 1824. Macallan grew from Alexander Reid, a barley farmer, making whisky from excess supply during the winter months to an internationally recognised brand today.

Macallan takes a mere 16% cut of the distillation to mature in casks, ensuring only the best of the best is used. More is spent per cask than any other distillery on sourcing, crafting and maintaining casks because these are the greatest contributor to the quality of the whisky. Finally, the only colour found in Macallan whiskies is natural, drawn from the interaction between spirit and cask, where artificial colours can otherwise fade. It is this attention to excellence that has made Macallan one of the best selling and most sought after malt whiskies in the world today.
