Produced in Jalisco, Mexico, this tequila is made from 100 percent blue Weber agave and distilled under the supervision of master distiller Arturo Fuentes Cortes. The agave is cooked, fermented, and distilled using modern but controlled methods designed to preserve clarity while maintaining character. A distinctive feature of the brand is the use of water filtered through Mexican silver, which contributes to a softer texture in the final spirit.
As an anejo, it is aged for a minimum of one year in ex-bourbon oak barrels, allowing for significant interaction between spirit and wood. This maturation introduces compounds such as vanillin, oak tannins, and caramelised sugars, shifting the profile away from the fresh, vegetal character of blanco tequila toward a richer, more rounded style. Compared to younger expressions, the agave becomes more integrated, with oak and spice taking a more prominent role.
The aging process creates a balance between sweetness, spice, and structure, while still retaining a recognisable agave core. The result is a tequila that sits firmly in the anejo category - more complex and textural, but still approachable rather than overly heavy.
